At UFC 117 we will get to see Ricardo Almeida sporting this new Tokyo Five II Walkout shirt as he takes on Matt Hughes in a welterweight bout. It is printed on a black tee with a large red Japanese sun on the front and back with silver Japanese lettering and “Tokyo Five” on the front. Also check out Almeidas coach, Renzo Gracies UFC 112 Tokyo Five shirt that he wore in his losing battle agaisnt Matt Hughes.
Tokyo Five has been KILLIN it with there Bas Rutten commercials. Whoever is in charge of their marketing should be sent a high class escort to thank him for a job well done. Hiring Bas for these commercials was a great move. Everyone in the fight game loves Bas and he is always game for making people laugh. So Tokyo Five marketing man, whoever you are, big ups to you. If you haven’t seen the other Tokyo Five Bas Rutten commercials then check them out, Bas Rutten Attacks Shaolin Monk and Bas Rutten Attacks Co-Hosts.
Tokyo Five and Bas Rutten have again teamed up to create another awesomely hilarious video. Bas is always the character and in this latest video he shows us some of his trademark self defense moves on a 80 somethin year old Shaolin monk. This video is in conjunction with the Tokyo Five Make Your Own Secret contest where you can win $500 of Tokyo Five gear. Sit back, relax and laugh your ass off.
Renzo Gracies UFC 112 Walkout T-Shirt is the Tokyo Five Chromeo Devil Jersey and it features some art based on Japanese mythology that I have no clue about. As per MMAWarehouse “Chromeo Devil is based on the Legend of Oguri Hangan, a general from the Ashikaga era. He tamed the famous wild horse named Kikage. He is shown battling a Japanese demon.”
Tokyo Five brand has stepped up and sponsored another UFC fighter, this time Gabriel Gonzaga for his fight against Junior Dos Santos. Gonzagas walkout tee for UFC on Versus 1 comes in black and features a chain wrapped around the Brazilian flag colors with the words “Team Link” in the background. The should has both the American and Brazilian flags on it along with the Tokyo Five logo.
Just when I start to forget about my man crush on Bas Rutten, he goes and does something like this to make me feel weak in the knees all over again. This is a take on Bas Ruttens How To Street Fight video and is equally as hilarious. Huge props to Tokyo Five for this, probably going to be the best marketing dollars they ever spent. Or, atleast the most entertaining.
Tokyo Five has been making big strides into turning themself into a real MMA company and not just a company trying to make money by sponsoring MMA fighters. To take that one step furthur they have released their Tokyou Five FU Fight Shorts. Although I can’t find any specific information about them on thier website, these shorts appear to have a stretch panel in the crotch as well as a velcro closure system.
